Whistling TB... aka "Non-turbo BOV"
(I didn't know which subforum to use, so here it is)
Hah... the title looks a little funny, but really... my car has a whistling TB... when it hits 3k rpm, throttle a/b 75%, it whistles, like a spooling turbo... when I shift, it "blows off" any ideas why it might be doing so??? I don't hate it, it's actually pretty cool, and it's stopped a few camaros, that coulda stomped my ass, from even messing w/me

My stock TB never did that. I bought one off Travis and it did it a lot. It got bored out and it does it even more now. IDK what it is. Porting it makes it louder. Shit, all I have to do is have the throttle at 13% and it does it even if I'm starting out at idle.

My other rs used did, but i sold it for a gsx. it's your exhaust. i had that stock mufle that looked like a musket rifle. it does sound cool, i almost liked it more than my real turbo....naw, j/k.

My old 97 eclipse rs did the same exact thing. I thought it sounded cool as hell....now I have the real deal ;-)
i just wished I had my current dsm in a 2g body :-(

every TB i have had has made that whistling sound i love it. it it really does sound like a turbo spoiling. never heard anything like a bov tho.
