2002 Solara: Check engine & trac light

My check engine light came on and then my trac light came on. I was told there is a service alert but no recall for the 2002 Solara. Has anyone had these issues? Was the dealer sympathetic? Did you go to a mechanic rather than to Toyota to fix?

Have you had the codes from the car's computer read? Autozone will read the codes for free. Depending on what is wrong, you might still be under warranty.
