Ok guys I need some help. about a month or so ago, my TPS went bad, so I replaced it and everything was ok until last night. I got in the truck to drive home and the check engine light came on and the truck started surging and idling at 500-600rpm at redlights. I checked the codes this morning and the truck had 2 codes, the TPS Sensor/ high circuit a..and the Pedal Position Sensor A ckt rang/perf. I put a new TPS in it, and now the Pedal Position Sensor comes up when I check the codes.i found out that the code means "throttle position or pedal position sensor/switch c, range or performance problem." Does anyone know what causes this code or better yet, how to fix it?Can somebody help me?! |

Re: P-0226 problem..HELP!
what year and engine i'm guessing it's a diesel 1998 or newer acording to your description but not sure but any way i did have this problem before and when i scanned the pcm in the freeze frame section showed the intake heaters were on or cycling when the engine was hot and then this messed up the sensor readings try disconnecting the intake heaters for a few days to see what happens
