how to replace a fuel pump
I am attempting my first fuel pump tomorrow. Any pointers? What do I need besides the pump. Gaskets? New filter? etc. If someone has the time to post step by step instructions I would be eternally grateful. It's a '91 Lumina 3.1

Re: how to replace a fuel pump
Buy a repair manual (haynes or chiltons) as the proceedure is too lengthy to post here. You can also try Auto Zones website, they have on-line repair infor available for many cars. Make sure you have a can of good (not wd-40 or liquid wrench) rust penetrant like PB Blaster or Break Away so you don't snap any of the lines. Definitely replace the fuel filter, and don't use a cheap brand of pump (like the Master brand Zone and Advance carry) unless you want to do it again soon.
