I just went to one of the local hobby stores today to stock up on paints and glue.... and stupid me forgot the Tamiya tape. Anyways, I have been thinkin about doin this for a long time and finally when I was at the store today, they had the Fujimi 1/24 Mechanics set and I also ordered the Garage tools set.... Now I am goin to make 1/24 Scale "tuning" garage to display all of my models in!!
..I was just wonderin if any of you have any ideas of how to make a "garage door" cuz I have no clue?! I will post pics of it as soon as we get the instructions for my sisters digi cam tanslated from Japanese (she got it as a gift in Japan!! )Any other Ideas for the project would be much apprechiated |

This is a pic of an awesome truck garage diorama i took at the UK IPMS nationals in '99, perhaps u can take some ideas from it?
This thing was huge and has so much going on - there is an upstairs office, a burnt out truck getting repaired and working lights.

maybe for a door u could take a couple of i beam styrene peices and bend them near the top of the ceiling to make a L shape and then sum scrap plastic cut in strips about and inche thick and do 3 layers of this and in the middel layer put sum clear styrenea spring that goes acros the top sum small cables running down the sides and a small control box right near the door
i dunno thats just how i would go about building a replica of the doors for my shop Ryan

Sheet metal and some of those little "ball link chains", and then some little ingenuity and voila! a working garage door!

If you want to use styrene sheets you could make it a sectional door, a lot of garages have sectionals......go to www.overheaddoor.com and you can see some different types of residential and commercial doors.
Hope maybe this helps a little..... Ray

Dyno's!
You should put a replica dynamometer ('dyno' as most people know it) on the floor. Any true tuning shop has on of those. Do that with a bunch of computer screens around. It would kick ass! :bandit:

The good thing about AWD Dyno's is you can lock up the rollers you don't use so the non-driving wheel rollers will be locked and there you go a 2WD Dyno!!!!
