help!!! my poor 323i

Hello all, my name is Jorel and im having trouble with my 2000, 323i. I was driving and all of the sudden the battery light came on. At the same time i completely lost my power steering. Its as if the car locked up, no steering whats so ever. The battery light is on, but everything electrical works. Theirs a funny noise coming from what i think could be a belt. Can someone help?

It's probably your fanbelt, which turns the power steering pump and the alternator. Should be a quick, low-cost fix.
