I have Skunk2 Coilovers on my car for almost 6 months now and I haven't needed to replace my struts. However, if u have the coilovers lowered more than half way down, its gonna be a very bumpy ass ride without new hi-performance struts, trust me. But if u only wanna lower ur car like 2 in, then u should be fine, it'll be bumpy still, but u'll get used to it. But like i said, i've only had the coilovers on for 6 months, i dont know how long my stock struts will last, but im gettin air cylinders in like 6 months hopefully, so ill survive.

If your going to install your coilover and you can afford them, that would be the best time to replace them. Do it all at once..

do it all at once. I make it a point to make fun of people on coil overs with stock struts that bounce all over the place. Its basically a way to scream riceboy with your suspension acting as your air horn. Save yourself the time and do it all at once. At least throw some non adjustable tokico Blue shocks on there. They run like 70 bucks a strut. Also keep in mind that branman has a crx which is lighter than your hatch...

.

Very good point, but as for installing them urself, if its anything like my car the bolts are gonna be frozen on like a b*tch. I tried to do mine myself, but the first bolt i tried to take off I snapped after 10 minutes of struggling. If anyone has any advice for preventing this, he'll probly need to know, unless he's smarter than me and already knows a way around that.

Hold on let me get you guys a tissue (cause your cryin) It is not really that hard I did mine in the front yard in about 3 hours with Impact wrenchs of course. But it is really not that hard. Here a helpful hint use some liquid wrench it will help with the frozzen bolts. Heres another helpful hint the nut side is usually welded so dont try to take that side off, and another hint is dont get a spring compressor (or do if ya scarded of hurting yourself) just take the strut bolt off (the center one) and the spring and everything will shoot off, Then when ya put it back together just raise the collar up so you can put the new coil over on with out compressing the sping.
