US Insurance on a GT-R

I was wondering if any of you had looked into the insurance costs of owning a skyline r33 or r34 gt-r for a daily driver with or without heavy mods done to it. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I have tried a few places but none of them seem to have the pirces for Skylines on hand...go figure:bandit:

I'm 25 w/ my insurance still on my parents' multi-car discount in a small town, w/ a clean record, and I'm paying almost $1500/year for my 96 240sx. I don't even want to think about how expensive it would be to insure myself on a Skyline (any model). I wonder if my insurance company can even give me a quote for a Skyline! It's probably not even in their database (I doubt there is a single one in OK--maybe I'll be the first one in a year or so?!?! That would be cool ).

Points? What Points? I don't need no stinkin' points.

Really none, why would you ask? You think $600 for full coverage is too much.

I think $600/year is awesome! That's $50/month for insuring the "baddest" car on the block!

In answer to your question Micro, you have to insure a Skyline like you would a custom car or show piece. Reason being is because in the U.S. they do not have the Skyline as a car that is made here or something to that effect. So in effect whatever rates apply to a custom car, would apply to the Skyline. If you don't believe me, you can contact Motorex and they will send you the info. I'm not sure how much it would cost either.

so $600 is actually 600 pounds, correct? That would be about $900 USD or so. Still it is one good reason to be old

I would imagine getting the "right" insurance company would always help. Shop around I say. I have USAA and NO ONE (at least in the US) has been able to match their price's. Also if you go with a company that can do home and life, etc you can get a discount.

My friend who has a 92' NSX lightly modded with just under 300HP at the wheels also has USAA and I think he pay's about $75 USD a month for his car and his wifes A4 and the only reason it's that high is because his "wife" has allot of tickets. I even had to help get her car out of impound:alien2:

Lauren, girl I suggest you go shopping they are ripping you a new one every month. With a clean record there is no way you should be paying that much. Then again I'm not sure how insurance is in OK, but even when I lived in Hawai`i (where EVERYTHING is over priced) my Accord coupe (lightly modded) was half that price and I was much younger

Oh I did notice the cones behind you in the 3rd picture http://www.angelfire./super/240sx.com just tell me that wasn't you that killed those innocent coneheads:silly2:
