Sorry folks, I am posting this on several boards as I believe this is very important and people have the right to be informed.
I saw what I thought was an excellent expose on CBC last night about the levels of Sulphur in gas. This is the short version: sulphur is the number one contributor to smog and respitory deseases. Some companies sell MUCH cleaner gas than others. This will all be regulated by 2005 by the government. In the meantime, I have made the decision to stop buying gas from non-environmentally-responsible companies. The dirtiest gas sold in Ontario is ESSO. The cleanest is Sunoco. The cleanest gas in Canada is Irving (popular in the east). As you guys know I am not associated with any oil companies but I am putting this info here because I think we have the right to be informed about the impact of the products we buy. There are "cleaner" alternatives we can all use. This is one article I found on the topic. Support environentally responsible companies! http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jk/at_001009.htm More articles. I find this just mind-boggling. Ontario sells some of dirtiest gas in the world. This causes 39 deaths a year. Unbelievable. Shame on ESSO (imperial Oil). Thumbs up to Irvin. http://www.foecanada.org/media/000419.htm http://www.irvingoilco.com/refining/iocgtop.htm Sorry but this really gets to me...

Sulphur also destroys fuel system components; most notably fuel pumps and fuel level sending units.
I wouldn't consider any gas to be environmentally friendly, but why make it worse than it already is?
