Smile In search of my 1968 Camaro Convertible I had in the summer of 1988

Greetings!

I know this is a long shot, but how would I go about finding the
whereabouts of a 1968 Camaro convertible that I sold in the summer
of 1988.

At the time, I lived in Wyandotte,Michigan - Wayne County.

At that time, it was Hugger Orange with a black interior,
the top's skeleton frame with no top and a black tonau cover.

It had a 327 V8 2 speed power glide and the RS black stripe around
the nose, with Cragar S/S 15" chrome wheels and Goodyear Eagle ST tires.

I've been searching through boxes and recently came across all of my
original paperwork - including the owners manual, pro-tecto plate and
the original title "returned cancelled" from the State of Michigan in
June of 1968.

Other than running an ad in the local paper from the day, any other
suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Rudy

Try running a carfax and finding out where it was last registered and go from there would be my advice.

I agree a carfax or any type of dealer vin report will do. You may also want to try your insurance agent. They can track a cars history as well. Good luck

Re: In search of my 1968 Camaro Convertible I had in the summer of 1988

Greetings,

Thanks for your responses. The DMV no longer offers the service.
As for Carfax, it requires a longer VIN number than what was given
back in 1968. So, unless I can find a cop to run the numbers, I'm out of luck.

Give me the numbers I have friends that are cops. They might be willing to do it.

Same here, I could probably find someone to run it for me.

Go to the local precinct with a couple boxes of donuts, a 24 cup of coffee and the vin scribbled on the top box with a sharpie... You'll have fights over who can do it fo you.
