2006 Pontiac GTO *COMPLETED*

It still needs some finishing decals. I'm hoping Modeler Al gets them done so I can finally complete it. The hood does not fit, period. No matter how much trimming and cutting I did it wouldn't sit properly.
All in all I am happy with the way it turned out. I love the color!
Cobra Colors Brazen Orange metallic (the whole 2 ozs.!)
1.5 ozs. of Clear
Rubbed out with Novus and polished with Mothers
Aoshima Bersaglio Spoke II's centers painted TS-14
Main body from AMT/ Ertl kit
Front, rear fascias and hood from the Polar Lights 2005 GTO
Bare metal foil headlights and tailights painted their respective colors where needed.
Clear lenses from the 04 kit.
Engine was wired and the crossover rail from some thin wire was used.
I attempted an oil filler tube, but I didn't get my dimensions for the pull top right and took it off(hood clearance issues), but will get on to making a new one here eventually.
Underhood decals used from a variety of spare decal sheets.
Exhaust tips are Parts by Parks Megaphone style. They look spot on.
Anyway, here are the pics:

A couple of shots with my Black quick build:

The rest of the photo's can be seen at My Fotki

Great colour. The engine bay is very nicely done.

Looks great, color/wheels go together well. Is there any way to get the wheels inside the fenders w/o major surgery?

Looks great. The color and wheels are amazing. Your engine looks stellar, too, it's a beautiful, clean build. Aside from the wheels sticking out just a bit, and that poor hood, it's perfect. Just gorgoues work.

Re: 2006 Pontiac GTO *COMPLETED*

Thanks guys!
Bob, You are right, major work would have to be done. The wheels actually stick out just a hair I think it's just the contrasting color's with the chrome lip.
However I will admit it needs a suspension drop. Something I will work on with the next GTO I do.
The hood, bleh, I did everything short of leaving the engine out to get that thing to fit. No idea what it could be. I'll be looking into it some more later on.

I'd like to add something about the tail lights and head lights. Each of those circles you see are individually cut bmf. I cannot tell you how stressful cutting them out was. Many circles sacrificed their lives to get the right sizes.

Chris

Scott those are either Aoshima Wheels or Fujimi. Since they are two parts my guess is Aoshima. Unfortunately I don't remember or know. I bought them off of AF here just as you see them, no box, just the wheels.
Sorry.

Aoshima Blitz BRW's.

I used 'em on my black '05 GTO. I had to search to find the name, I forgot too
