Re: price of supercharger?

the vortech costs way more than $500. But yes, it is a nice piece and worth putting on the V6.

Re: price of supercharger?

The Vortech supercharger thats made for my car is about $3500 new. If he happens to have a Contour/Cougar, then its possible that someone is selling it for $500. Its an absolute piece of junk. 100% failure rate.

Re: price of supercharger?

They are cheap and don't work. Don't even bother looking at those.

Re: price of supercharger?

Dont go with vortech, if you are going to go with a centrifugal supercharger get a paxton (my humble oppinion). If you want true big block V8 grunt you need a positive displacement SC and there in lies the problem. There are cheep (under 3k) positive displacement kits but they are all roots style AKA they require a good amount of torque to turn them and they heat up the intake charge too much (limiting your boost pressure). If you want true idle to redline proformance you need a twinscrew and those cost 5k and up. But of course the absolute best modifacation you can do for the money is to get rid of the v6 and get a v8! Sorry not to dis on your car but v6 mustangs dont have that great of an aftermarket. Not only does the V8 come with more power that the v6 with a supercharger, but the V8 come with a tranny, diff, and suspension that are all made for that power. By time you did all of that to your V6 you could have bought a V8 and had money left for mods. Just my
