Replacing Oil Cooler Seal
I have a 1993 Honda Accord SE that has a major oil leak.
I seem to have identified my major oil leak to at the oil cooler. I am not familiar with oil cooler. But after doing some research, I understand that the oil cooler is a separate unit that can be removed from the engine. Furthermore, parts store appear to carry the oil cooler seal. I am asuming this is my problem - a seal gone bad. But I have never worked with an oil before. Can anyone give me any tips on how I remove the oil cooler so I can replace the seal? Do I need a special tool to remove it? My Haynes manual does not cover the oil cooler. Do you which manual does? Help needed desparately. |

Re: Replacing Oil Cooler Seal
Man, dbbyleo, how many places are you going to post this?
I'm sure you're desperate, but remember that everyone here is a volunteer. And it's the weekend! It's no help, but I didn't even know the Accord HAD an oil cooler. |

Re: Replacing Oil Cooler Seal
Yeah - I know - ...sorry about that. I just didn't want it to get lost in the big long thread like the other one. Since this was specific to an oil cooler, I just thought it would be appropriate.
I'll update this one last time after I have a solution for "replacing an oil cooler seal". |

Done!
I've been able to replace the o-ring in the oil cooler. See my post in the threads for details:
