98 lumina 3.1 - Does any one know where to locate the air duct mixing valve? My air cond itioner appears to be working (low high readings good) , but im getting warmer air mixing in - especially on the passenger side. It is a split controlled systemfor the driver and passenger sides.
Thanks!, snick |

Re: 1998 lumina air cond- mixing valve
The mixing damper is accessible from inside the vehicle. You'll probably have to remove the LF lower bolster trim panel and possibly a duct extension from the lower air outlet. This may give you enough access to see the electric actuator which controls the temperature door/damper. If you operate the temperature control you should be able to see the actuator step the door from one end of travel to the other. You may be able to disconnect the linkage from the actuiator and manually move the door to make sure it is sealing fully against the case seal in the full COLD position. . If the actuator is not sealing the damper fully, you may be able to adjust it, or may have to disassemble everything to inspect or replace the damper and case seal.
