87 lesabre wheel bearings question

I have noticed lately that I have popping in one wheel when turned all the way to one side and while driving I feel like the left front wheel has some play in it and I can feel the shake in the wheel. Is it possible for wheel bearings to fail and never make any noise? I just recently changed out a set of bearings on my wifes grand prix and the noise was unbearable when they went bad. Ive checked the wheel lugs, and steering joints, and the cv axles seem to be ok also. Car has almost 190,000 miles on it.

Unhappy Re: 87 lesabre wheel bearings question

When is the last time you changed the ball joints, or upper strut bearings? This sounds like the classic symptoms of one, or both. Have these checked by a shop specializing in front-end work.
