Best Way to paint Porsche wheels

Currently, I am building a '67 Porsche 911R. It has the sixties-style Porsche wheels with the silver "center star"; see the picture:

In the past, I would have painted this with a brush, but there must be better ways to do this. Anybody wants to share their tips?

Thanks
Jens

here's how i did mine, it came plated, i painted on the center using a brush and tammy's acryl, then used earbuds soaked it thinner to get the raised bits on top off and to get the wanted effect.

Re: Best Way to paint Porsche wheels

I painted some similar Fujimi rims recently, I first used a thinned wash of black acrylic to get into all the edges, then I went back after that was dry with a thin brush and flat black acrylic to finish the job. It's a bit tedious but it works, and I also cleaned up minor mistakes w/a Q-tip (ear bud, cotton swab, yada yada).

A liquid masking agent and an airbrush would be my first choice, followed by hand brushing to fix any problem edges and a final coat of semi-gloss or flat clear to seal everything up. I'd use an acrylic semi-gloss black so any mistakes are easly removed.
