Taisan Porsche GT2

Hi All,

Here is one of my favorite cars of all time, the Porsche GT2. I made it with the kit decals. I was thinking of switching them up for another livery, but I figure I will build a second because I enjoyed the first so much.

Enough of the monologue...

cheers, Rick

Re: Taisan Porsche GT2

Looks superb, especially with the brilliant base you have made. I love final touches like that.
I also have a few of these kits and a set of 1995 LeMans Larbre competition decals to the do the FATurbo Express car.
The only problem is there are many nose configurations and it'll need a custom front lip constructing which I'm not willing for right now. Check pictures of the real car before you purchase any decals to see if the bodywork matches!

Thanks for your compliments. It is great to see there is a healthy 993 following.

Yes, that base sure adds a smoldering classic look to the car. My eyes popped out when I saw how it looked in a photo format. What is neat too is that the base is pure carbon fiber, the real thing! It has a deep 3D effect look which looks awesome. I am sure I will not win any competition with the quality of work at this time, but I know people will give my build a second look if it is on that base.

The base is a venture my buddy Ron at www.racingminiatures.com started. You can see samples at the following links:

And yes, both models on display are my builds! I can see it now...bright lights, fame, fortune...LOL, ya right, in my freaking dreams!

Too bad you will not be starting the 95 LM soon, I would really like to see your thread. Thanks for the "heads up" about doing the research before the purchase. If you decide not to custom build, there might be some spoiler/decal kits around for certain liveries.

Cheers, Rick

Re: Taisan Porsche GT2

from close up seems like u need a little more polishing, but the last pic makes me change my mind, clean build. I love how the wheels look on this kit.

Re: Taisan Porsche GT2

Very good looking build. I can see why you would want to make another one. The striking livery on black is great as is your display. Great work.

Re: Taisan Porsche GT2

Very nicely done. The display adds a whole new dimension and class to the model. I would love to do displays for my models, but they take up so much shelf space..

Re: Taisan Porsche GT2

Nice model and base. I have a couple in my to-do pile. Scale Productions makes front and rear spoiler transkits for 1997 - 1999 GT2s.
