'96 K1500 radio size

i'm looking at getting an aftermarket in-dash video that is a Double Din size.. but when i look at my radio.. it doesn't look big enough for a double din. And even if it were big enough, it looks like the molding of the dash would get in the way. I kinda want to make sure that a double din in-dash video is the perfect fit before i go off spending 1,000 bucks just to realize it won't fit.

Double din? Do you mean a radio that will fit into the stock din without an aftermarket kit? If so, your local shop will know which one will fit the truck. Most of the larger aftermarket stereos are the correct size, although IMO some of the kits do not look bad.

well i found out that the correct size for the stock radio is a Din and a half (didn't know there was such a thing...) . so now i gotta try and find a store that sells them! any ideas?

Any car ausio shop should carry them. I know pioneer makes a good cd player that fits perfectly.
