Jeep Grand Cherokee dies while driving
I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, it has almost 115,000 miles. Last week, while I was driving, it just died. This has happened several times over the past few days. The strange thing is that after it dies, I am able to start it right up again. When the engine is cold, it doesn't start up right away. Also, there are no codes coming up.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! |

Re: Jeep Grand Cherokee dies while driving
Welcome to AF TsJeep
Your problem is likely the crank position sensor. Check out the sticky thread at the top of the JGC page. There is a lot of stuff in there..... including your symptoms. If you have more questions, come back here and post them. Glad to help when we can. JD

Re: Jeep Grand Cherokee dies while driving
Just a far out chance that your cat converter might have loose ceramic in it. That happened to ours and every now and then the pieces would close off the exhaust and the engine would die. As soon as the pressure backed off, it would start up and run fine. I tried all the sensors first and it still would die once in a while, then start back up. Took off the cat converter, cleaned it out, and haven't had any trouble since.
