I have a 90 Dakota, when I release the clutch, there is a rattle undearth the truck, I only notice it in Neutral. I also noticed a rattle when I upshift into the next gear - almost like the truck doesn't need to be in the next gear. Kind of like when you are in second and slow down and go aroun a corner ane the rpms are too low for the gear.
Any thoughts? Could it be the throwout bearing? Clutch? Some clunking when shifting, but not to loud, somewhat low sounding. I also hear a winding when I downshift from 3rd to 2nd. Any suggestions? Clutch has 30k on it, tryck has 74k on it. Thanks.

Re: 90 Dakota Trans Rattle

Re: 90 Dakota Trans Rattle
mine was doing the same thing, then the throw out bearing would stop releasing when it got hot, i am in the middle of replacing the clutch now.
