Question Best Exhaust and Headers?

I have a 78’ Malibu with a 350L motor, 383 stroker is coming soon. I want to know what is the best exhaust to buy that would give me great performance and sound? I was told the flowmaster is a great buy. Whats the best exhaust to buy that would fit my needs?

P.S: I want to buy headers for my 78’ Malibu also, do any of you know what’s the best headers to buy for performance?
Thanks alot .

Can't say about the exhaust system. I CAN tell you, IMO, Hooker headers are the best IF they make one to fit your car. If not, Mad Dog...

Re: Best Exhaust and Headers?

As for mufflers, you get what you pay for. Flowmasters are strong and durable, and a bit expensive, but are IMO pretty loud, and will turn your car into a real cop caller when you stick your foot into it.

However, if you keep the catalytic converter, even the loudest muffler will be quitened considerably.

This might sound a bit odd, but try going to a cruise night and listen to some v8-powered cars and, if you hear something good, ask what kind of exhaust they run. Most people will not be upset, guys love to talk about their cars anyways.

Finally, if you get a custom bent dual system, remember to install a balance tube between the 2 pipes, just behind the headers. This lowers the noise level, improves the 'tone' of the exhaust sound and improves power a bit.
