this should be in the audio forum but anyways...they are great subs. they are good as the weakest link (or however you say it). these subs put out a lot of bass, but if you're a soudn quality guy, it might be ok. feed them a lot of power, put them in the right box, and you'll have some nice bass. how much money can you spend on subs/amp? i can help you look for some.

Kicker subs really kick ***. My boyfriend has two 15 inch square kickers in his lightning. They sound really good, and have a lot of bass... but then again he has a 1200 watt amp pushing each

yea what are you lookin for SQ or SPL? the l7's put out a lotta bass but lack a bit in SQ. if you want both and maybe a lil more bass then look in the 15" tempest subs at www.adireaudio.com . i've heard they are really good for the money. or if you loaded get a pair of w7's. has to be the best if not one of the best subs i've ever heard.

werd! i always suggest adire audio for people who don't need big brand names and want good sounding bass without ripping a hole in your wallet. these tempest may not be as loud as the 15" L7, but they will sure sound a whole lot better. the tempest is more comparable to the 12" L7 or the 15" L5. a tempest has the potential to reach over 150dB in a ported box.

if you got $2000 to shell out, adire audio has released specs on their Brahma Extreme 15". this sub is made for SPL only (first for adire audio) amazing sub, but you can get 4 brahma for that price

mtx ppi

sup fellas, i am building my system, previously i had a 90 olds 88 royale (straight g-ride,puercos loved it) but i had two ppi 10's sealed box with coustic (NOT POWER ACOUSTIK) COUSTIC 401se, and then 134,000 miles , olds took a dump, put it in friends red 88 prelude, got jacked a week later, but they left the screwdriver for me, how nice, but my 00 civic is getting two mtx 12's (6124 single coil) in tubes, with the biggest two channel coustic makes : 150w x 2 @ 4ohms and 300w x 2 @ 2 ohm stereo. and a lightning audio strike digi cap (1 farad) and 4 ga wires, if anyone likes/dislikes this stuff, lemme know if you got some somewhat founded opinions... i hope my shtuff sounds good but we'll see as im waiting on the amp and UPS .... audio impact lags... im off to sell daily news door2door, lates

ryan

well you don't really need a farad cap with only 300 watts but if you really want one i think .5 farad would be food enough. i think that you should go with a jbl bp600.1. good and and puts out 600 watts RMS and around 1000 peak

95civicman i know 1 farad is way too much but what the hell,b/c price difference was about 15 dollars, and cant have too much capacitance, my battery is a stock 410 cca , alternator is pushing ~60 amp max. i just remember the gauge lights dimming in my old car , determined never goign to happen again

just for info, the .5farad cap usually discharges faster than a 1.0 farad. also, the 1.0 farad will take a tad bit longer to recharge. the .5 farad lightning audio cap is only $59.99

The charge/discharge rate is tied to the ESR/ESL characteristics of the cap, not the size - the construction of the terminals has a lot more to do with it.
