My friend thinks he can run 15.7 in a stock LS
My friend wants to bet me 20 dollars that he can beat me in an Integra LS, with me behind the wheel of a DOHC Vtec 1999 Civic Si, with equal or no mods on either cars.
I am a pretty good driver, I've been racing stickshift for 2 1/2 years now, and he is equally good, if not worse of a driver. He is stubbornly hard headed about this, and he also claimes that integra LS' get 138 hp to the wheels stock. If I'm not mistaken don't they get like 122 hp to the wheels stock?

Yeah, an LS, 138 to the wheels, I don't know about that. Then again I am by no means a Honda expert.

It's COrolla, not CArolla, learn how to spell. And if that's supposed to be a joke, spelling it like that, then I've got one more flag on my side that says you're going to lose.
Oh yeah and Chris, if you look up www.car-stats.com my car is actually .1 of a second slower than yours at the 1/4, so if your driving is so much better than mine, then why is it that when you had an AEM cold air, DC top header, and cat back exhaust, I beat you by a car or a car and half 8 times out of 9? Can you explain that? If your driving skills are so great, then why is it that when you're supposed to be running 16.2 or 16 flat, you were losing to a car that runs 16.5??? I can't believe you got an account on AF just to argue with me here.

My friend ran 15.8 on his 95 integra ls auto at the track. All he had was intake and customed cat back. Thats only one time though. The rest he ran like 16.0-16.3.

Haha, actually, the only reason we haven't raced is because I can't find an Si here that doesn't have major mods to it. I mean I used to have a friend that has an Si with just a cold air and a header, but first, he blew his third gear synchro, and second, we're not friends anymore. (drama)
So we haven't raced yet. I've debated getting a Civic Si as my next car since the guy with the Gizzer backed out, but... My dreams of having a 2 door coupe powered by an H22a still stand strong. Dang, St. Louis, lotta miles.

It depends on where you live and where you look. In California, I found a 2000 Civic Si with 12,000 miles on it and a clean title for 11,900.00$
But with GSR's, I've only found like four with clean titles and they cost well over 16,000.00$. Don't even get me started with 5th gen Preludes, :sigh:. I figured, hybrid is the way to go. I can get a good condition 94+ Integra LS for about 5,000.00 and a shop I'm cool with quoted me 3200.00 for an H22A swap, with axels, ECU, wiring and everything. And they said it will take them only 5-6 days to do the full swap. I still debate getting an Si though, because I don't know if I can live for 5-6 days without a car, and Si's have a lot of aftermarket support... (Where are you going to find a Cold Air intake for a Prelude powered integra?)

14.9's possible in an Si, but there's steps you have to go through.
First off, you have to use the right stuff. Okay, an Injen Cold Air get's more hp to the wheels then an AEM, if everything's stock. But tests have proven that when you have a ceramic coated JDM header AND a cold air intake, the AEM one responds better to the set up than the injen. So an AEM gets about 5 hp to the wheels, stock, and Injen gets 6, but with the header, the AEM get's nearly 7 wheel hp, and the header gets more hp as well. It's all in set ups, so say you have an AEM cold air, a DC sports JDM type header and Greddy catback exhaust with a high flow cat, with minor weight reduction it's possible to break 14's, especially if the driver is good. With a shortshifter it's even more possible, because I've driven Si's, and you kidrocket have to know the stock Si shifter isn't too responsive to powershifting, but with a shortshifter, (a real one not an autozone one) like the B&M, you'll take 70% off of your shifting time, and if it normally takes you 1/4 of a second to shift gears, and you take 50% of your shifting time off, then you just knocked off 3/8 of a second off your 1/4 mile time, because there are 3 upshifts in a 1/4 mile run with an Si. An Si stock off the lot runs 15.7, broken in and taken care off with about 3000 miles on it, it can run 15.5 with good track weather. (everyone knows a car runs better when it's broken in and it is taken care of) And intake header exhaust is known to drop .3-.6 of a second off your quarter mile time. Hope that helps.

I have a friend that is selling a blue Civic Si. It has been lowered, custom tires and rims, and the only engine mod is a cold air intake. I am not sure who makes it. He was selling it for around $14,000 I think and was willing to deliver it. I'll see if he has sold it if you want.

I'm already in the process of getting a 95 Integra RS, 110k freeway miles, but brakes and stuff are in good condition, perfectly ready for an H22 swap!!!
My friend in SD wants an Si though... So yeah check it out for me, please, thanks.
