287 vs 300 hp
When the 350z first came out, it was 287 hp. Now the new 350z are 300 hp. torque is differnt too. My question is, What's the difference in the motors 287hp from 300hp model???
My other question is, in the coupe model, the only thing the grand touring model have over the touring model is brembo brakes, rims, and body parts right? If I got a touring 350z and got aftermarket brakes, rims, etc.. Would that be considered as my own customed grand touring?? thanks |

Re: 287 vs 300 hp
im pretty sure they just tuned it diffrently to squeeze the extra ponies out, im pretty sure the torque is lower in the 300hp model...

Re: 287 vs 300 hp
I kinda figured it's been tweeked differently for the hp difference but I talked to a salesman about the hp difference and he said the intake was different. I didn't really believe him, but I didn't want to say anything. I guess nobody can tell me..

Re: 287 vs 300 hp
I beleive that they began to incorperate variable valve timing on the exhaust cam as well as the intake in 05, which will explain the bump.

Re: 287 vs 300 hp
There are significant differences in the engines including: ECU, cams, pistons, rods, redline, variable valve timing, intake manifold, and some minor things.
