Sun Roof
For as long as I have owned my TC(2 years) I have had to help push the sunroof open and shut while holding the button. If I forgot to help push, it would just slow down and stop in the same spot every time. Then to fix it you just push and it would close the rest of the way. After it gets past that one spot I could let go and it would go the rest of the way just fine on its own. Now just recently while shutting the sunroof, I pressed the button and it stopped and locked up before the bad spot. I pushed it as hard as I could but it wouldn't budge. I got a friend to help me push it the rest of the way shut and we finnaly got it. Im thinking its something wrong with the track but i have no experience with sunroofs at all. I am pretty sure its not the motor because I can hear it trying to go when I push the button.

Re: Sun Roof
there is probably a bad spot in the track where the sunroof binds up. this can cause the clutch lobes in the motor to go out. the motor will sometimes work as long as there isn't much resistance to the moving glass. the track definately needs to be fixed, as for the nylon lobes in the motor, they may or may not be bad. try fixing the track first, then if it still doesn't work, try replaceing the nylon lobes in the motor.

Re: Sun Roof
Ya, either bad motor, or somethings wrong with the track, like your compressing it at the spot where it gets stuck

Re: Sun Roof
Thanks for the replys. My guess was the track too but I dont know what is the best way to get to it. Do I have to take down the headliner or remove the glass? I know how to take down the headiner but would that be the easiest way?
