"Performanc Transmission" 1995 Firebird Formula...what does this do?

I test drove a 1995 Firebird Formula today. It had a button that said Performance Transmission. I've never seen this before in a Firebird. Could you please explain to me what it does when turned off and turned on.

I've got one on my '95 TA..it doesn't seem to do all that much from what i can tell, but it's supposed to make more precise and smoother shifts..the only thing it affects is the transmission..

Actually its suppose to do the opposite. It ups the line pressure to give firmer/sharp shifts

My 94 formula has the Perform button. I rarely use it, but when I do, the car shifts much harder, feels like the shift pattern changes,

off. The higher the Fluid pressure. Puts more stress on the seals and creates more heat. Only use it, if you feel like driving aggressively.

I leave it off. In the 10 years that I have had the car I have only used perform button maybe 4 times, usually for off the line fun or to show a buddy how much the car can throw your head back.

Also, it defaults to the off position whenever you start the car, so as Formula mentioned, I don't think it is meant to have on for normal driving.
