Tamiya X19 Smoke.

Quote:
DON’T use Tamiya X19 Smoke. It does not give acceptable results!
The whole day I spent trying to fix what appears looks like shadows in the glass.
Then I read tonight the comment in quotes, Taken from the F.A.Q.

Im wondering if anyone has found a solution to using X19 smoke,Or an alternative.?

Would be good to know.

Re: Tamiya X19 Smoke.

I'm guessing you mean the film that we have on 1:1 cars. This has been discused before and the final opinion is to use 1:1 film on the model, do a search this has been talked about at least once or twice.

Once or twice is an understatement....I'm not counting how many threads the search feature returns:

Maybe I should rephrase that, I'm not counting the threads which actually ask the exact same question as this one.....

Which the search feature will bring up if you USE it.

Sorry guys, But i wasnt refering to tint film which I did read about in the F.A.Q.

I did do a search previous to making this thread,I was just curious if people has their own ways of creating a tint.without using the conventional tint film..

Sorry for asking.

Re: Tamiya X19 Smoke.

This has been discussed before - and almost everyone will recommend something different!

Alclad produce a Smoke (also other tint colours too I think), its much, much better than Tamiya X19. I've used it a number of times with good results, such as the Imprezza below. It's fairly easy to get hold of in the UK, but if you can't find any locally try here http://www.little-cars.co.uk
