Got my ass handed to me twice tonight...

First time was a sweet one, I was cruising around with the sunroof open and all the windows down. Nice cool, crisp night. All of a sudden I see this car coming up fast on my left. I started to speed up to pace him and he cruised right by me at about 65-70 mph..I caught up and paced him at his rear quarter till we ended upstopped next to each other at a light...I was sittting next to a newish Jaguar XKS..The guys tag read BADDJAG. I new the late thirties looking guy liked to drive his Jag...

I kinda kept letting my foot off the brake a nd going forward a little. Trying to let the guy know I was game...Light goes green and I'm on it hard. I got him off the line till about 25-30 and then this guy was going, going, gone..I kept in it hard until about 80 and this guy was multiple buses ahead...I need one of those...

Second race...I got up beside a 6.0 GTO and popped it in second at about 40 mph. I gassed it and took off and I dont know how many milliseconds it took for him to walk past me but it was'nt very many... We ended up next to each other at a light..When I pulled up I saw that him and his girl were pretty tickled at my failed attempt...The guy looks over at me and says

him: "you think you can keep up"
me: "hell no, I know I cant ...that car is on my wish list"
him: "this ones got the 6.0 in it"
me: "I know I saw the badge, them LS2's aint no joke"
him: gave me a look like 'huh'...I dont think he new what I was saying...
me: " I could prolly get you off the line"
him:" "
his girl: " "
I was like unless he can drive real good hes not going to launch very well based on what I have heard. That it takes some getting used to...

Light turns green...This guy was across the intersection before I could even get my gas pedal all the way to the floor.. ....His GOAT was an automatic and had no problem launching hard off the line....WOW what an ass whooping....

and to anyone wondering, I expected no less than what I got...I was just pumped to see these 2 wicked fast cars getting on it...

Re: Got my ass handed to me twice tonight...

The guy in the GTO was around 50 and his girl was early 40's...He drove that car the way it is supposed to be driven....lots of people driving all kinds of cars are quick to show off there rides/skills all the time here...thats why its so fun to just ride around and have fun...

To me its not about winning all the time its about being an unexpected threat and having fun...

the people around here that "show off" their rides and "skillz" are the ones with the rides not worth showing off..won't mention any specific cars...

Re: Got my ass handed to me twice tonight...

I think the Tibby owners are plotting my death as we speak....as far as racing in an SUV...Its a Jeep thing you wouldnt understand...I guess I could be zooming around town in a Honda and be the same as you...or wait, I can be different than everyone else and choose to race around in town in a Jeep that is not only fun to drive , but has luxury and style...Oh, and I can still take it offroad...

Re: Got my ass handed to me twice tonight...

I respect your point. I guess im kind of againt racing on the street as a whole. Didnt mean to offend you. Yeah, I know that Hondas are everywhere. But I dont have a choice, frankly. So im just making due with what I have. Just remember that its never safe to race on the street.

Re: Got my ass handed to me twice tonight...

I know what your saying about racing on the street...I guess the only good thing about racing ppl in my Jeep is that it will only be in a straight line and will never get above 80, usually..If I'm still running someone past 80 they have a slow ass car...I have been in 2 accidents in my life due to street racing....nobody hurt and I was never driving....We hit a telephone pole in Charlotte in 1991 after sliding through 4 lanes of traffic.. We were in my friends brand new stealth r/t. We hit at 135mph and did over 10 thousand dollars to the front end....we spanked the mustang gt we were racing, but not worth the possble tragedy...I am as safe as I can be and would never race if I thought someone would get hurt....never know though....

Yeah, but what if you beat a guy retarded with a torque wrech and they ban you from the tracks forever? The street is then your only option.

Most people never get into 1 accident while street racing. If I would have been in 2 or more, I would probably have given it up along time ago.

Where I come from, hitting a pole at 135mph and doing over $10,000 worth of damage is a "tragedy".

My only advice to you is to live your life a 60ft at a time. This is the ultimate way for you to stay safe, especially with your street racing luck.

The only tragedy was that the insurance company wouldnt total it because he had just bought it and owed like 35,000 on it...As I said b4 I wasnt the one driving either time...Trust me I am not out there terrorizing the street or anything. If evrybody ran away when they had a little bad luck we would all be wearing skirts or worse living in France....
