comments on the upcoming crown vics, grand marquis, and town cars
you know it has been known for some time how ford wants to re-design the crown vic, grand marquis, and of course the flagship, the lincoln town car, so that it sits on a stretched ford 500 frame. now we all know that these three land yachts are known for the size and comfort and reliability. i mean honestly, i can't see ford using the ford 500 platform and stickin the town car name plate on it. and then making it FWD or AWD, i mean come on. these three fantastic vehicles are well known for the panther platform and their RWD. and i was also reading how the town car will no longer be fords flagship in 2010. i was just posting this to see if you guys had any opinions about this. i mean, if ford sticks the town car on a ford 500 frame and making it FWD/AWD, all i know is the cadillac DTS's and the STS's and all of Caddys RWD V8s are going to have a boom in sales. i know you wouldn't catch me in a town car that should say "Five Hundred FWD/AWD." Wondering what any of you guys think.

Re: comments on the upcoming crown vics, grand marquis, and town cars
I agree, call me old school but rwd V8 is the only way to go. Ford would not do the TC justice by inflateing the 500. Most people just don't want the big rwd cars any more. I am afraid that they will all be phased out sooner or later.

i agree. but then again, i find that V8 performs better on a RWD platform. i mean yea the caddy DTS's are FWD and i used to have a deville and that performed nice, but once it got to like 70 it slowed down, unlike the TC they tend to keep their momentum. i dont even know how a AWD TC on a 500 platform would respond to a V8. I kno the V8s will only be 4.4L when this happens. and the V8 will be OPTIONAL. a 3.5L V6 will be standard.
