Bronco II panel swap/exhaust question

My 88 BII has a HORRIBLE body on it but the motor is decent, and i just put alot of work into it. Soon i need to do the suspension. I love my truck but the rust is getting to be a massive issue. I found an '84 for cheap at a kinda off the road car lot, so i wouldn't trust running it but the body is beautiful, will the panels from an 84 swap to an 88? I don't see why not...it's the same motor the only difference is the tranny, mines a stick and the other is an auto.

Also, being a little 2.9 the motor doesn't sound the greatest, is there a way to beef the exhaust up a little so it sounds more like a real truck? Glasspack? anything???
