1984 cherokee 2.5L

i just pruchased a cherokee with a blown head gasket.... i am having a lot of trouble understanding the chiltons guide on the repair because like i have noticed the pics the have never look anything like whats under the hood of my vehicles... anyone know of a good place for references on how to replace the head gasket on the 2.5L motor??

I have a haynes 84-97 manual and it seems to be pretty complete explaining the procedures for the cylinder head removal. You can down load the 88 factory shop manual at this site, but it describes the procedure for heads in general, not just the four banger. I think the Haynes manual would give you more information, for example, I didn't realize that your motor has a steel head gasket and must be coated with a special sealant on both sides before installing.
