Question 89 Ranger Cant find Mass Air Flow Maf Sensor

I have been intermittantly getting a check engine light. I checked the codes with a volt meter and it's reading 66 for MAF below minimum voltage. The vehicle has a date of 12/88 on the door. The air intake tube is one rubber tube going from the air filter to the intake, and there is not a section for a maf. I'm wondering if the vehicle was out before the maf was added, or if maybe someone removed it before i got the vehicle. Does anyone know where i might find the maf?

Oops, it's the 2.3 liter with the manual 5 speed, and air conditioning.

Lightbulb Re: 89 Ranger Cant find Mass Air Flow Maf Sensor

Thanks for your help!

Apparently it was a 67, neutral drive switch (nds) circuit open with a/c on during self test. not sure what that means, but it does not sound terrible.
I had a value of 21 for the engine coolant temp (ect) out of range, replacing that sensor made a lot of difference, runs smoother and has 'some' acceleration in OD now. Hopefully that will make my 18 mpg increase to 25 or more.

The codes i get when running are 15 and 41.
15: eec processor (keep alive/read only memory) test failed.
41: HECO (ho2s-2*) sensor circuit indicates system lean.
Not sure what to do with those, maybe they are not a big problem.
It's possible those codes are wrong, but it's around 2am and the ranger kept setting off a roommates car alarm, so i did not test again.

The code 41 lean codes needs worked on or rechecked..

But first clear all codes and drive and recheck.
