Stalls Out
1993 LeSabre with 98,500 miles. I noticed it stalled out a few times while driving it home. I just purchased it, and the previous owner says he started it every now and again, but never drove it. I havent put a tune up on it yet, but I think thats what I need. After it stalled, it would start right up with no problem. I can tell when its about to stall because it will idle pretty low. For my tune up, does anyone have any suggestions on the type of plugs and wires i should install? any particular thing i should focus on changing related to stalling out, and long periods of not being driven? thanks all...

Re: Stalls Out
Yes, standard tune up sounds in order
Plugs: AC Delco Rapidfires- $15 for a set of 6 (NO BOSCH!) Wires: Pretty much anything more than $25 PCV valve: 3 bucks Air filter: No Fram! K&N would be best. Fuel filter: Just about any brand, $10 Oil Change: I use Valvoline 5w-30, but 10w is fine unless you live in extreme temps Oil Filter: Anything but Fram! Tranny Fluid/Filter: Dextron Mercon III, use a bottle of Lucas Trans-slip too O2 Sensor: Umm...bosch is cheap ($20), but OEM is better Use copper antisieze on the plug threads, use di-electric grease on the plugs and coils Thats about it...I probably missed something but that should get you a good start ![]() Edit: Since it sat, you'll probably need to replace all the above and a bit more. The vacuum hoses are probably shot and the radiator hoses probably need replacing as well. Is the SES light on, by any chance? You are probably looking at needing new timing gear/chain/damper/CAM Interruptor magnet (Glue in!) pretty soon too. The timing chains start to stretch enough to mess with timing between 75k and 125k miles.
