X Trail 2005 2.2 DCI shock problem
Help- a knocking noise from rear driver side shock ( Ithink). Shock replaced but no improvement. Seems to happen more on uneven surfaces rather than on bump or pothole. Also squeaking noise as car swings. Its driving me mad and main dealer cant find problem. Any advice??????

Suspension bushes, most likely the trailing arm or lower control arm bushes.
Does the car feel unstable at highway speeds?

Re: X Trail 2005 2.2 DCI shock problem
The most common knock is the rear antiroll bar link, check to see if there is any play in the ball and socket in the link if so replace it. also Check the front and rear subframe bushs. we have loads of problems with them.
