Well if you want both, you better start AutoXing now while your car is still stock. They have classes in AutoX and if you swap the engine or add a turbo, that'll bump you into a bigger class. Heres what I would do: upgrade the suspension. Get a good set of coilovers like Ground Control and a nice set of shocks. Then pick up some good strut bars. Add some good tires. Then go start out AutoXing. Get some experience under your belt. Check out their regulations on classes then maybe add a Cold Air Intake and Exhaust. The intake you can make yourself if you follow the instructions on www.teamdelsol.com under How-To. That will save you money.
Once you are comfortable with AutoXing, you can swap the engine (unless you have the VTEC model) or add a Turbo and build up the engine so you can handle the boost. Think about what you buy. If you are serious about racing, don't buy anything that adds unnecessary weight like bodykits and stereos. And please don't waste your money on Altezzas or other worthless mods. With that hundred plus bucks, you could do a lot to your car performance wise. |

Is it a good idea to change my engine to an H22(Prelude) engine?

Go to www.hondavision.com and READ their del Sol board. They are affiliated with Team Del Sol, so the guys know what they're talking about. Read through a lot of posts. Read all you can. Do a search on all the stuff you want to know. That will answer almost every question you can have. If AFTER you read and you still have questions, then ask them.
But as far as the H22, its a good swap b/c of power, but its also fairly heavy which will require some suspension mods. Its a never-ending debate. Do a search on HV and it'll get you up to speed. |
