Unhappy s10 won't start

Hi! I'm stumped.. My 94 s10 4.3 tbi 130xxx miles won't start..It turns over but won't catch.. I am getting good fuel spray and I have spark from the coil to the distributor.. This also happened a week ago but it started right up after sitting for a few days... I'm assuming that since it's a throttle body the fuel pressure should be ok as long as it's pumping? correct? It HAS been a while since tune up but I would think it would still start but run bad if it were the icm/cap/wires/plugs.. I just can't afford to replace everything until it works so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I originally posted this at 6pm eastern time and no replies yet so I guess I'll check back in the morning since I work from midnite to 8 am.. I may just try replacing the igm for the hell of it..

Re: s10 won't start

Good question.. unfortunately I haven't found a way to check for spark at the plugs because I have no one to turn the key while I check that.. I only managed to check for spark at the coil wire because it reaches the bolts for the air filter.. But, it ran fine up until saturday night... no misfiring or anything.. which is why I'm guessing it would be the icm.. If it turns out I have spark at the plugs, any other ideas?

Re: s10 won't start

Thanks for the help! I'm thinking the problem was due to a massive rain storm on the day it originally wouldn't start because it was a beautiful sunny day today and it started right up.. So, I'm off to napa in the am for a new cap, rotor, and an icm just to be safe.. I'm hoping that will solve the problem.. Tho it never happened before and when I took the dizzy cap off (while it was still raining) everything seemed dry so I'm puzzled.. btw the tps was replaced last summer .. could moisture cause the cam position sensor to give a false reading making it think it jumped time?? Any thoughts on anything else where moisture could cause it not to start? I'm not very familiar with post 70's cars with all these sensors and computer controlled junk.. lol

Re: s10 won't start

So, it didn't start this morning on the first few tries.. Same deal as before so I'm guessing it's most likey not moisture related.. when it finally did start, I went and replaced the cap/rotor which were pretty worn (original since '94..lol) as well as the plug wires just because the coil wire was worn from rubbing on the air filter and I noticed the #2 plug wire had what looked like a hole drilled in it.. I don't know what caused that.. but.. it started up the last 5 or 6 times I tried it.. thanks for the input on my problem.. If it happens again I'll start a new post.. lol
