What's the next mod?
I have a 1994 Honda Accord EX Sedan with a vtec engine (f22b1). I'm looking for the next mod. I'm looking into some 17" rims with the addition of some new tokico shocks and some 1.5" intrax lowering springs. I also might add some Z3 fenders but that will be down the road sometime. Any ideas? I was also thinking about adding a turbo but I have not seen a full-fledged kit for my engine. There are plenty to be found for the f23 and other engines (or maybe i'm just looking in the wrong places.) Either way, any help, ideas or comments would be appreciated. I'm to put in more "go" than "show" for now. Thanx!
Current mods: CAI Sport exhaust Gripforce racing clutch TYC projector headlights TYC elegante tailights Clear corners Clear bumper lights White LED washer lights Blue neons under seats Kenwood KD-2019 head unit 12" 250w pioneer sub not installed yet: whiteface gauges: have both reverse and EL glow - don't know which ones I want to install |

Re: What's the next mod?
If you're looking for more "go" than "show" there's a few things you could do. Headers, intake manifold, high flow cat, throttle body/throttle body spacer. Those are just a few off of the top of my head. They wouldn't be as expensive as a turbo, but they'd help a little bit with some hp/torque.

Re: What's the next mod?
If you seriously want more go, then go forced induction, or build/swap in an engine. You can throw hundreds if not thousands of $s of bolt-on intake and exhaust mods, and you wont get much out of it. All those things mentioned above are nice, but bang for buck, nowhere near turboing it.
Also, in my opinion, throttle body spacer is pretty much worthless on a fuel injected car. Just my .02

Re: What's the next mod?
yeah FI is the best way to go for power. Its going to run you at least $2,000 for a decent kit. More depending on where you get the parts and the caliber of the parts. I say bypass the 17's and keep it around 16" or maybe even 15" for good performance and comfort.

Re: What's the next mod?
i have a 97 accord with 16s from the 15s stock and i wouldnt go any bigger. it just creats a really rough ride. i tried 17s but i dont think they are worth it unless your really going for look, besides its going to make it a lot harder for the engine to spin the tires.

Re: What's the next mod?
Oaky, thank you all for the comments! wher can I go for a good FI kit? Most of the kits I;ve seen are for the f23.

Re: What's the next mod?
You do realize that it will cost several thousand to go FI?

Re: What's the next mod?
do a home made tubo set-up, lots of 1st and 2nd gen eclipse turbo parts work for accords. Cheap and you are good for around 8lbs of boost on your motor, wouldent go any higher with the stock internals.
