Question 2000 740il dtc p1622

Anyone have any ideas what causes this trouble code? Engine runs fine, coolant temperature is ok. The code indicates "map cooling thermostat control circuit electrical".

I have the exact same code and problem and failed inspection because of the code. I am curious as to what makes the code appear and am told by service that it is relatively common. Let me know if you found out how to fix the problem.
thanks,paul

Did the thermostat change resolve your problem with the p1622 error as well?

Thanks.

Hello there, that map thermostat fault code is caused by an internal fault within the thermostat circuit. By replacing the thermostat and housing (has map sesor incorporated in it) you will do away with your fault. This fault is very common and is of no real concern, but if it is causing you trouble with your countries testing procedures i would definetly change it. good luck.
