Talking Several questions for the well informed

I just wanted to say thanks to the people that have responded to my posts.. I have come to the conclusion that working on your own car is the way to go.... shops bend ya over... charge ya too much.... and f^&% up your ride! I have a couple small issues that I have questions about... first off... when Im doing over 65 my windshield wipers move from the wind to the middle of my windshield... any way if fixing this? I already replaced the windshield wiper motor with another used one... the old one was slow even on the highest setting... which replacing that motor was all kinds of no fun getting the linkage to stay on.... second question.... before I installed my IACV the guy who used to work on my car adjusted the idle higher... how do I adjust it back to work it should be? Third question... I have been trying to find 1990 dx crx break light socket EVERYWHERE... ebay advance auto parts etc etc... anybody have any advice on where to find one? My taillights leak and rusted out the old socket so now there is a short... need to replace that... and last but not least... anybody know how to get tint residue off your glass? I successfully peeled off the lovely purple nightmare that the dumb f&^% that owned it before me must have paid a 3 year old to install... but before I get it tinted again I want to get all the smudged residue etc off.... thanks alot for your time!

Re: Several questions for the well informed

Goof off spray should get it off just fine, it meant for graffiti, I used it to get the gooey nasty mess of a paint job off of my door panels...BTW, Krylon fusion (plastic paint) does NOT dry on vinyl! Hit a junkyard for the socket. You can pick it up at ACE hardware, Id be a little careful around your paint though. It says it wont harm hard finishes like cars but I still woulduse a little protection.

There is an idle adjust screw on the TB...

Any love with the windshield wiper issue? And where on the TB is that screw? I looked it up in my haynes manual and its hard to see where that screw is. I tried goof off first actually to get the residue off... no luck... that stuff works wonders though getting dynamat goo off of something hehe... might try alcohol or ammonia to get the residue off.... its not really sticky... but it would look like doo doo if I just had new tint put over on top of it.

Re: Several questions for the well informed

Use a sharp razor blade, held at a very shallow angle..

Re: Several questions for the well informed

Amonia and a razor blade work wonders for removing tint goo. For the whiper blades, make sure the arms are all the way down and the bolts are tight, I had this problem on my crx with i first got it. light socket go to the junkyard.

for the idle what you need to do is unplug the iacv and then turn the idle screw to about 100 rpm's UNDER what you want it to idle at. Then re connect the plug and turn the car off. Take out the hazzard fuse in the under-hood fuse box for atleast 10 seconds to reset the ecu. Start the car back up and watch her idle pretty. This is the way AllData says to do it, and is the way I've always done it with no problems.
