compression

ok my new projcct has 12.5-1 pistons. i want to know how much i can safley deck the head to bring the comp. up as much as possible? i was thinking .035

As far as clearance you may be OK. I'd call whoever the manufacturer is of your pistons and ask them to be sure.

I wouldn't do it, 12.5 is plenty.
Decking the head will retard your cam timing, to recover you would need adjustable cam sprockets. You may also not be able to run the cam you want b/c of clearance issues caused by decking. Do what you want, just remember... If you give a mouse a cookie...

sorry i didnt mention i have fidanza cam gears and crane 24's oh and this retarding the timing....its very minimal and can be corrected with my gears.

and 12.5-1 is plenty for you....not me.

I Have An Msd-dis-2 Programable, S-afc, And Many More Stuff....

you are aware that when you have to retard your ignition so much to get away with your high compression on pump, you are hurting power. its all a compromise.

yes i am aware but for the most part this is gonna be a track car so race fuel will be used at the track. when i use it on the street ill just put some 93 in it and swap programs in the ms2 on the laptop.
