Question speaker placement

This is my first post, and I was just wondering if anyone has a system in the zx2, and which way are your subs facing, right now I have them facing the back of the seat with the seats falded down, which way should I face them, before I build my own enclosure in the back, I want to make a solid enclosure, but I first want to see which way everyone else has them, check out my web page http://escortzx2hawaii.zoomshare.com here you can check out pictures and tell me what you think, either on this web site or email me at [email protected]. thanks to all that repond to this I will get back to you all that repond as soon as I get the chance thank you again.

Re: speaker placement

I've got two infinity reference 12's that are facing outwards but not angled up .. is that better?

Re: speaker placement

i always wondered if you could turn the back of therear seats into boxes, where granted you couldnt fit big speakers but larger ones and even mount the amp on one so you could adjust it by flipping the seat down.

Re: speaker placement

I have my amp screwed down to the inside of the back drivers seat. I've tried every different configuration: for bandpass (plexiglass) boxes, facing the trunk is best. For sealed enclosures, they should face the front seat. Also, subs in the trunk have a tendency of blowing the factory rear speakers And one more thing: it seems louder with the rear seats CLOSED- I guess because the trunk works as a really big resonance chamber. I don't really know....

Re: speaker placement

i had mine facing the front seat at first, but it didn't sound as good .. i think some frequencies were being cancelled out .. so i turned the subs to face outwards and it's fine now

Re: speaker placement

my rear view mirrors all vibrate, the seat belts rattle against the plastic walls, the doors rattle, the spoiler vibrates, the trunk lid rattles, the rear license plate rattles (not as much as on most cars, though), and there are things inside the trunk i cant find that rattle. oh yeah, and the hood rattles when i turn it way up . i m running 1200 wrms to three 12s. only the center rear view ratttled when i was running 400 wrms to two 10s.
i really need sound deadening

Re: speaker placement

3 12s .. nice

the other day i was driving through the lincoln tunnel and i had the subs blasting ... i wish i were able to hear what it sounded like outside the car, but i imagine the tunnel made a nice echo chamber

4-1 header to stock exhaust(no cat) and a disconnected muffler, and a disconnected VCT = DEEP LOUD RASP sound at 2500

Re: speaker placement

That's pretty deceiving .. I would never exect this car to make a deep loud rasp

No cat and muffler .. is that legal where you live? It's not allowed out here in Jersey.
