90 pickup startup tick
I have a 1990 SE 4X4 pickup with a 3.0 V6 118k. Upon cold start there is a tick coming from the top of the motor. Lasts about a minute and then is quiet and runs good. Any suggestions. Could it possibly be EGR valve or possibly valves or cam? Anyone have similar issues with the V6?
Also, the timing belt was changed at 75k. Does anyone know the suggested interval to change this again? |

Re: 90 pickup startup tick
Given that it's only at a cold start up and its in the top of the motor, it's probably the lifters. Check the oil, it's probably low.
