Gurgling noise!!!

Hello, I have a 2001 Intrigue, and of late, have noticed a gurgling noise(kind of like water bubbling) coming from the front left side under the hood. I'm not sure if this is normal, however I don't recall hearing it before, even though I normally have the radio on as soon as I jump in the car. It happens only when the car has started and/or is in motion. Once the car's stopped, the noise goes away. Any ideas, clues as to what it might be? I know I still have to take the car in for the pressure control solenoid in the transmission(since the gears stick sometimes), so might have to get both things done, unless its related. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Re: Gurgling noise!!!

My car makes a similar sound, except only when it's idling and has been on for or driven for a while. It seems to be the powersteering, as when I turn the wheel, the sound goes away until I stop moving the wheel. However, there is a gurgling or sloshing sound that intrigue owners have discussed that happens when you're accelerating when the car is cold. This is usually the first sign of some sort of coolant leak on the 3.5 (not exactly sure where, as this is what I've read on the forum).

Re: Gurgling noise!!!

some forum members have stated they had air in the coolant system and it needed to be bled out. The areas filled with air are heating up.

it maybe a good time to change your dex-cool to the new stuff and then I would bleed the air out of the system. The 3.4L (not intrigue) GM engine had the intake gasket problem. What does your coolant look like = crappy, then change it. My car is a 2000 and I expect to change my Dex-Cool out this year (finally). After a few years the dex-cool really breaks down badly. The aluminum scale problem is probably very real, also especially after the dex-cool gets old and acidic. If you leave the older dex-cool in too long = expect problems and overheating. I have noticed that my car is slowly getting hotter also.

I had a similar problem. When I turned the car to "on" I heard a rush of fluid. I changed over to the Prestone with blue cap, all makes and models. Problem dissappeared. I also used the flush cleaning kit.
