You'll need factory head unit removal instructions and a wiring pinout to identify the speaker connections and a power source. carstereohelp.com used to offer up free info (not no mo), still a good source. You can also try trailvoy.com

are you looking to amp the whole system or do u just wanna add subs?

I have in other vehicles tapped into the rear speaker wires and ran those to the amp and then to the subs. you'll need to use the fuse box to hook up you remote wire and still run your power to your battery. i did it in a mustang and corsica and it worked fine, no problems and no radio removal. just make sure the sub speaker wires are not mixed when u hook them up cuz it'll sound like shit

kool so when i install the adapter i will able to tell on the factory speaker wires wich is posetive and neg.

I dont know what all you are installing, but i did a basic hookup, i didn't need no adapter. just an amp, subbox, and a wiring kit to wire the amp. which includes your pwr. for battery and remote wire and other misc. stuff. thats it. oh ya i hooked my camaro and 98 cavalier like that too. the factory spkr wires i believe are labled at the speaker. I dont remember where the rear speakers are in my TB (I never sit in back) or if it'll be a pain to get to. If you have an adapter kit to instal an after market head unit then look at that, it'll have the info you need for pos. and neg. The problem i had if i hooked the pos. and neg. wrong is it sounded horrible, like a blown spkr. i swapt the wires around and it sounded good. so i never had no damage from having them crossed......not saying it couldn't happen though. You need to buy a RCA CONVERTER BOX. you can buy them at circut city or best buy or at any electronic store..You splice it into your factory speakers. Then plug the RCA wires into the converter box. Then run them to the Amp. I have this done in my 02 TrailBlazer LS. I'm still using my factory unit. (The best place to install the box is behind the factory unit).

You can also buy an amp with speaker level inputs and save the hassle of removing the radio, installing a converter and finding a place to put it.

If you have Bose, you need an adapter. Without one, all you will do is mess up the system.
