Hot Rodeo! - Help!

Hi,
My wife's 2.2 1999 Rodeo (well Frontera actually ...but same thing) started acting up.
She noticed yesterday that the fans were coming on much more than usual.
The car also had that kind of "overheating" smell about it.
I've checked the expansion bottle, the water looks clean and at the right level, and theres no noise coming from the v belts or water pump.
No apparent loss of coolant, I'm thinking "Stuck Thermostat", anyone else?

Thermostat. If the car has reached normal temp, if the upper hose is much hotter than the lower hose... thermostat. Also check for leakage in the thermostat housing, it'll form a coolant pool under the intake and cook from heat. Then everything will smell sweet. Good luck. I just changed the thermostat on the '98 Rodeo, wasn't fun.
