trans parts swap

anyone know if it's possible to swap the trans parts out of a 91 4l60 trans to a 94 4l60e? i'm referring to the gears and such.

Yes, that should work - the internal mechanics of the transmissions (clutch packs, drums, gearsets etc.) were the same between the two models.

Many of the parts are the same even back through the later versions of the TH700-R4. Whatever you do, however, DO NOT re-use the reaction sun shell. Spend the extra forty bucks for a TCI "Beast" sun shell with the heat-treated hub. The '91 was among the suspect years for this part.

Just watch the stack heights for the plates and steels, since the counts and thicknesses varied across the years.
