Double Clutching, How and Why
How would one learn to effectively double clutch, and what is the significant benefit of learning how to do this?

Actual double clutching is only needed when driving a BUS or a BIG TRUCK. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!! double clutching is when you engage clutch take out of gear, let clutch out, engage again, then shift into gear. I do believe your talking about speed shifting, where you match RPM so that you dont have to engage the clutch to put it in gear....which in turn would save you time while racing. However it is extremly hard on your tranny and not worth learning on your car.....learn on someone elses...hehe

people watch too much fast and furious, lol. double clutching is good if your synchros are going on your tranny. its a way to save your synchros. but yeah its not faster, whenever anyone tells me or ask me about double clutching , i lauugh then say, "no no it works, you should do it." lol

that was the most idiotic quote from fast and the furious "granny shifting not double clutching like you should" you guys are right, that would be the case if we were driving 4th gen Peterbilt big rigs. now shifting without using the clutch is a different story...

Yeah - snapped a clutch cable in one of my 1st gen Civics - put into 1st gear, start motor, bunny hop, then try and slip it in when the revs are right - it's amazing how much punishment a 1G Civic can take

my cousin has a 96 dodge neon DOHC and he shifts without using teh clutch all the time.. hell saves on the clutch. now i tried to do that but im missing one integral thing... TACHOMETER. its nice sometimes to know what RPM your engine is revving at

Yeah if you think about how long it would take to Double Clutch, it would be horrible for drag racing. Unless you drive a 4spd GTO or something, you don't need it.

Yeah they are pretty decent, I think it's mostly the depth to the reflective parts inside that makes them look different.
