eMap mounting

I recieved my mount for the eMap. Anyone have suggestions for mounting locations. I imagine I could trial and error it, but I figured since many of you have had your GPS for 1+ years, you have found the most optimum location for daily driving and of-road use. Feel like sharing?

I have the GPS12...about the same size.

I bought a non Garmin mount - from Galyans (forget the brand name).

I mounted it to the dash next to the AC vents (actually around the corner - toward the passenger side). It swivels every which way, and is high enough I have no problems with reception. Also keeps it out of the way of any controls or whatever.

Use the search function!!!

(I always wanted to say that )

There's a post in this forum on a custom mount by Snoopy. Did you see that one?

Of course I did. And?

Actually, I have the Garmin mount which is not quite the same as that. I can mount it similar to that one. However, I would like to see others ideas for location.

Can you post some pictures on how you mounted the unit? I just got a GPSMap 76 last night and I can't figure out where to place the car mount.

It is just ploped on top of the dash just to the right of the steering wheel. If I get a chance, I will take a picture for you. After I get some free time, I will likely come up with another solution.
