ive got a 1996 pontiac trans am 5.7 100k im rebuilding my motor and i was just wondering how much torque deose the heads need

if i were you i would go buy a book with all those specs just so you dont forget to tourque everything thats needs it and the right amount as for how much i dont know...try googling it.

l ordered how to rebuild small block chevy..LT1/ LT4 from amazon.com and cant believe this they charged me 3 books..
2 how to build SMALL BLOCK CHEVY LT1/LT4 engine and 1 john lingenfelter modifiying small block chevy engines.. l didnt even order other two.. anyway, if u want to l can sell u one brand new how to rebuild book, it is still in the package, l didnt even open it.. Erdal |

torque heads in 3 stages 20ft lbs starting from the middle of the head outward then 40 then 65-70.
lower intake in 2 stages start with15-20 ftlbs then 25-30 starting from the center of the intake outward. upper intake is done the same way . max torque 19-22ft lbs if you have aluminum heads do the same way but lower the max torque on the heads to 55 ft lbs
