transmission problems
well i was at the track yesterday and when i took off i dropped the clutch and pressed the gas. well the clutch was out and it was revvin up like the tires were spinning, but they weren't. then came this awful burning smell and now when i shift it take it a while to get into gear. i think it's slipping and i need to know what all i need to get and how much it will all cost. thanks

You just burnt your clutch up
It's around $550 for a new clutch after installation.

I've done that with my clutch several times now. The smell makes me want to throw up.
You need to upgrade your clutch/pressure plate to one that can handle those high rev dumps. If you are short on cash... don't worry... if you are easy on the clutch, it should hold up just fine for you (mine has)... drive with it while you save up for an upgrade.

After putting in a new clutch, you really should consider downsizing to 16" wheels.
Just a suggestion if you are interested in your clutch and tranny lasting for the long run. |
